Betano is the most known brand in Brazil, according to a recent survey.
Owned by Kaizen Gaming A study conducted by Env Media has shown that among Brazilian betting brands, Betano is the most well-known and reliable.
Betano Brazil
Many well-known Brazilian brands were surveyed by Env Media, including Betano, Bet365, and Betfair, among others. Looking at operators' visibility and market shares, the study intended to establish which ones had the highest share of voice in Brazil.
The regulated market is set to launch in the near future after Bill 3,626/2023, which legalised sports betting and igaming, was approved in December.
Five hundred active adult bettors were polled to find out which operators they were familiar with and had faith in. With 73.4% of respondents saying they knew and trusted Betano, it was clear that they were the leader. Bet365 came in second, with 67.2% of the survey's participants choosing it.
Pixbet, a Brazilian operator, came in third, with 54.7% of respondents recognising and trusting it. Sportingbet and Betnacional were chosen by 42.6% and 41.6% of respondents, respectively.
According to Env Media's analysis of Brazilian internet users' monthly searches in Q2, Betano was also front of the pack. With an average of 45.5 million monthly searches, Betano easily outpaced Bet365, which had around 30.4 million searches per month, according to Google Brazil. With an average of 11.1 million monthly searches, Betnacional ranked third among the operators, behind those two that enjoyed a sizable lead.
Brazilian player tastes
The Brazilian players' brand preferences were also investigated in the Env Media poll.
The biggest majority of options, 55%, indicated that attractive bonuses and promotions were important factors when choosing an operator. Second place went to safe and quick payment methods (48%), followed by dependable customer service and an easy-to-navigate UI (43%).
With 67% of respondents betting on sports, sports betting was also determined to be the most interesting vertical. Of those who took the study, 58% bet on the lottery and 51% played casino games.
After being removed by the senate in January, igaming was included in Bill 3,626/2023 when it was ratified in December. Among the casino games that 51% of respondents preferred to gamble on, 35% preferred online slots, and 31% preferred live casino games like roulette.
Participants receptive to transferring operator
Brazilian gamblers are willing to try out new online casinos and sportsbooks, according to a survey by Env Media.
Roughly 15% of people who took the survey switched operators every week, and 10% did it every month. As for the other 13%, they switched operators every few months, while only 17% said they changed operators very seldom or never.
Operators' ability to entice consumers away from rivals highlights the critical importance of preserving a good reputation, according to the Env Media poll.
Thirty percent of people said they mostly used social media to identify new operators, and 27 percent said they would switch based on the recommendation of friends and relatives. Online advertising is the primary mechanism by which almost the same amount of people (28%) find new platforms.
Furthermore, when asked about non-gaming reasons for switching, 76% of respondents cited reputation and trustworthiness as a major factor, while 44% cited referrals from friends and family and 36% cited internet reviews.
Concerning gaming-related reasons, 47% of respondents cited quicker payouts as a justification for moving operators. Additionally, reduced minimum deposit restrictions (41%), improved customer assistance (42%), and both were in the top three.
Betano is actively seeking sponsorship.
Betano's massive sponsorship activity has undoubtedly contributed to its great brand recognition in Brazil, which it hopes to leverage in the LatAm market.
In addition to being the title sponsor of the Copa America, the company has also sponsored the highest tiers of football in Argentina and Brazil.
The sole operator to have applied for a licence in Brazil prior to the anticipated opening date of the regulated market on January 1, 2025, is Kaizen Gaming.
According to Hugo Baungartner, chief operating officer of Aposta Ganha, Kaizen's choice to file for its Betano brand first was likely a deliberate move. They have been planning this for what seems like an eternity, so I know.
